I first met Reverend Vimbai Mugwidi at Johannesburg Central Methodist Church at the end of 2005. Rev. Mugwidi was the Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Pastoral Delegation. She spoke about the crisis or atrocities in Zimbabwe and described Lindela Deportation Centre in Johannesburg as a concentration camp. *Lindela is run by the ANC government ruling South Africa. I was shocked, and saddened to hear that she had been killed on 24 July 2008 in a head- on car accident in Kadoma (about 150km from Harare). Vimbai aged 32 is survived by a husband and son, Tinomudaishe Christian Mugwidi. In Zimbabwe there are Mugabe’s ZANU-PF accidents and natural accidents. Many critics of Mugabe’s ZANU-PF and those ministers who had fallen out of grace were killed in these so-called accidents.
In September 2006, Rev. Vimbai was described by Mugabe’s bloodthirsty regime a national security threat because of her role in speaking up for the poor and oppressed, Prov 31:8.
