Christians Wake Up!
It’s a long time I have been listening to heretics who are teaching that the church or Christianity has nothing to do with politics. Christianity is a dynamic philosophy that touches every area of man’s life and thought. God has established three separate institutions; family, church and state for His own glory and benefit of mankind. Authority for each of them has been clearly defined in His moral law.
Now my testimony will be limited to the state government. “God does not give authority to man, state or any human institution without instructions on the purpose, limit and use of that authority.”
State powers and limitations are clearly stated in Romans 13, and other parts of the bible. The state in Zimbabwe is bound to obey the moral laws of God and this is true for any state anywhere. Only obeying God’s moral laws will limit its powers and evildoers will be certainly punished and innocent people will be protected and encouraged. This biblical truth shutter’s the view of a stubborn and rebellious man, that the state has a right to control everything.
Church leaders and Christians who are proclaiming that Christianity has nothing to do with politics are greatly deceived. In fact there are under control of the dragon (Satan) that is backing the modern state (beast) Rev 13:2, 16:14.
To be emphatic God’s moral laws determines righteous political practices. The right to autonomy has not been granted man in civil matters. The state is required to conform to God’s moral laws Psalms 2:11, just as an individual is expected Romans 13:9. If the state government cannot be measured in terms of God’s moral laws, they will never be a standard to condemn and limit its behaviour. It will be foolish and a sign of great pervasion to use one man’s idea to condemn another man’s idea. Realistically such condemnation will be baseless. If Christians cannot condemn today’s political madness in light of the bible then they will never be a basis to call anything wrong in future.
God’ s moral law is the only tenable standard for right and wrong, good and evil. Christians are obliged to evaluate human behaviour in all areas of life on biblical basis Mtt 4:4, Jhn 8:32, 2 Cor 10:5. According to exodus 18:21 the government in Zimbabwe is immoral and has no right to stay in power. Rigging elections cannot continue to prevent pro-Godly leaders from coming into political office.
Not only the Church, which is a religious institution but the state also. Justice and law are all religious facts. Therefore it is blatant foolishness to think that God has ordained the state to dispense justice from a religion other than Christianity. The state establishes laws, which governs the civil order.
Why do Christians and church leaders play harlot with the devil in the social order? The modern humanistic state (government) is under control of demonic powers. Therefore it will wage a war against God’s faithful flock and all other people with Godly principles in trade, education and living.
In America, bibles and prayers in public schools have been banned. In Sudan the National Islamic Government (NIF) has dedicated itself to enforce Islam on whole Sudan. Therefore wages a holy war against the Christian South (Sudan). Christianity is a world wide banned religion, it is only allowed to the extent that it doesn’t affect change in government manipulated areas e.g. trade, education, health, charity and politics.
Why do nations conspire and the people plot in vain? The kings of the earth take stand and rulers gather together against the Lord psalms 2;1-2.
Jesus is the Lord Psalm 24:1. The Lord has overall jurisdiction over every area of life and thought. State laws for civil justice must be framed in accordance with civil laws in the bible. Why do Christians surrender the political sphere to political prostitutes? And it is not veiled that indifferent churchman who claim neutrality are real Marxist in sheep’s cloth. “…There are religious leaders who don’t openly support tyrannical leaders but remain silent in the face of gross injustice-these are hirelings” (Derek Carlsen).
They have become worse than unbelievers whom they blame or criticise. A Marxist believes and support with consistency the principle that the state is the supreme institution and hence self-limited. Definitely a Marxist contends that the state is morality (determiner of righteousness and evilness in society). Therefore doesn’t need external moral laws to control its activities.
People become Marxist in two ways: consciously or unconsciously the later is wilful ignorant (Hosea 4:6) therefore has no excuse just as the former. If it is true that the state is supreme truth and true source of justice why do we see warfare legislation, state corruption, CIO caused deaths, state backed starvation and political evilness in this nation? When Christians deny that the government is under God’s moral laws (triumphal of evil-Marxism) freedom for other governments get destroyed (it must be noticed that the state is not the only government but a small ministry among the broad governmental sphere of authority there is government of an individual, church and community etc).
Church leaders and Christians who are denying Christ’s Lordship over politics are no different from the political and religious leaders of Jesus’ day who were misleading the whole nation of Israel. “Woe to you …! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter into yourselves and those who were entering in you hindered” Mtt 23:13. “They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord…bringing swift destruction on themselves”2Peter2: 1.
The bible is a complete package; one must accept it all or deny it (Derek Carlsen). All those who are denying Christ’s Lordship over politics, commerce, international trade and public education have in fact followed self-made religion. If Jesus Christ has no complete control over everything, including politics how can He be Lord? In such a vacuum the state will assume Lordship and regulates every life detail e.g., marriage, charity, water, production, health, trade, church and education. The church must not control the state nor the state control the church. The state is a ministry of justice (Romans 13:4) with a limited role to play in the society (Controlling of education, trade, health, church, charity etc is a usurped responsibility. The state deserve to be pushed back in these areas, “…the gates of hell will not prevail …” Mtt 16:18.
The church is a Ministry of Grace, which has a prophetic function to rebuke the state when it departs from political righteousness (righteous according to God’s moral laws). The church has got also an indispensable duty to train man in character to be civil leaders Eph 4:11. Institutional separation between the church and state (advocate by reprobates) is a glaring great evil.
Our ZANU PF state is held responsible for nationwide poverty, starvation, poor health, malnutrition, corruption and injustices. Churches are responsible to educate all people on these aspects. People who oppress the poor are not God’s people. The church is fake if it doesn’t work to free the oppressed and to correct oppression no matter how religious it might appear Prov29: 7. Sometimes personal sins are a result influence of social sins.
Why is it that the modern church is failing to be the light in Mathew 5:13 and condemn oppression and state made starvation in Zimbabwe. Martin Luther once said that, “If you preach the gospel in all aspects with the exceptions of the issues which deal specifically with your time you are not preaching the gospel at all.” Most part of the church in Zimbabwe is not preaching at all. Like Sodom (Ezek 16:49-50) it will be destroyed for neglecting the poor and failing to preach the Gospel.
Most leaders preach money (Micah 3:11) and live more comfortable lives with money of the poor. Whereas the great commission (Mtt 28:20) require all churches to teach all things that Christ has commanded. The behaviour of our church leaders is contrary to clear biblical teaching about money (Micah 3:11, 2cor 8:13, Philippians 2:3, 1Tim 6:7-10). “…A sad commentary on the average congregation is that more is spent on carpets, heaters and parking lots than allocated for fulfilling the great commission” Peter Hammond.
First century type Christianity emphasised upon people and their needs rather than buildings and unwieldy programs. The church doesn’t condemn those oppressing the poor and at the same time demand money from the already overburden poor. Most churches in Zimbabwe are lacking concern for the welfare of the poor and have neglected command about visiting prisoners (Heb 10:34, 13:3) correcting social structures that devastated the poor. In fact they must be deprived of the name church- probably bunch of thieves fit them well.
Proverbs 29:7 points out, “the righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.” Our civil and ecclesiastical leaders have become rich because they cheat the poor; God announced the destruction and devastation of the rich rulers who oppress the poor (Isaiah 10:1-4). In fact our political and unfaithful religious leaders are doomed and damned.
Silence in face of political immorality is a symptom of deviation on the church of God. Neutrality and silence is in fact a god of our generation. The increase of political evilness in Zimbabwe must be blamed on the church’s neglect and forfeiture. What is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.
Churches must contribute considerable to the cause of the poor and political campaigns. Now in the words of Hal Lindsey, they can’t compete with radical political organisations.” Modern churches seek to compromise with corrupt political leaders while behind scenes innocent people are being murdered, tortured and segregated from public utilities. Compromise doesn’t work, because the person you are trying to persuade doesn’t deny his basis.
Some of our Church leaders have gone to the extent of publicly praising corrupt leaders. “Those who forsake the law praise the wicked but those who keep the law resist them” Pro28: 4. Shame a modern church, a Pilate, a Judas. Turn away from your wilful ignorance before it is too late. “Be watchful and strength the things which remain, that are read to die for I have not found your works perfect before God” (Rev 3:2).
