Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) is an affiliate member of the Geneva World Council of Churches. ZCC has been lured into alliance with Mugabe Zanu Pf Government. In June 2006 ZCC announced National Day of Prayer and changed the date after meeting Mugabe. The proposed date had clashed with Mugabe’s plans.
The President of ZCC, Anglican Bishop Peter Nempare, told reporters after meeting with Mugabe, “We know we have a government that we must support, interact with and draw concern.”
The Standard, an independent weekly newspaper, Quoted Bishop Densen Mafingare, the Secretary General of Zimbabwe Council of Churches as having told President Mugabe inside the meeting, “we love Zimbabwe and support your government efforts.”
One member of ZCC was given a farm stolen from a former white farmer. The ZCC National Day of Prayer, on 26 June 2006 gave platform to a vicious dictator Mugabe, to air out his nonsense. The National Day of Prayer was suppose to challenge all Zimbabweans to repent from our sins and to pray for revival and reformation in our families, Churches and in socio-political life. Its pathetic that the ZCC organized day of prayer was a platform for Mugabe to tighten his control and to deceive majority of Zimbabweans on what Christianity is all about.
Former ZANU PF Minister, Jonathan Moyo said, “the prayer day had been a failure as so few people turned up.” He further said, “Mugabe had long wanted to involve the Churches in his political plans and that this effort would continue.”
Ecumenical Peace Initiative (EPI) support Mugabe ZANU PF. Roman Catholic Bishop, Pius Ncube said, “Church leaders in the EPI in addition to Bishop Kunonga (of Anglican Church) had been given farms and money by Mugabe to cooperate with his government.”
Bishop Pius Ncube warned that religious leaders in Zimbabwe were divided because Mugabe had bought out most of them and that Churches in Zimbabwe could not play a meaningful role without help from neighbouring countries. Mugabe gave them farms” Ncube said,” He even offered me a farm as part of his evil devices.”
Zimbabwean Salvation Army supports ZANU PF Government.
The Salvation Army has confirmed that it support Zanu Pf Vice President, Joyce Mujuru. “Vice President Joyce Mujuru is an active member of the Salvation Army corps.” The Salvation Army Church worldwide is well known for helping the poor, suffering, and sick. The Church in Zimbabwe has betrayed the founder of Salvation Army, William Booth. The Zimbabwean Salvation Army preach that it has nothing to do with politics while majority of its members are suffering because of humanistic politics and now has turned into politics of supporting the Zanu Pf dictatorship of President Robert Mugabe
Recommendation: Pray for the Salvation Army to withdraw from politics of supporting a murderous government. We hope in Jesus name that they will change. We request that the International Salvation Army confront the Church in Zimbabwe about this blatant corruption in the Church.
Write to the Salvation Army near you asking them to protect their reputation by cutting ties with the Zimbabwean Salvation. Or Write to……………
Archbishop Pius Ncube reprimands the Pope
Zimbabwean Archbishop Pius Ncube has admitted reprimanding the Pope about the positive remarks that Benedict XV1 made to Zimbabwe’s new ambassador to the Holy See last year. Ncube told the Pope on June 17 2005, “Seeing that you were so optimistic in your speech, it may be that you don’t know what’s happening, when l left they were smashing houses (Mugabe’s government destroying homes of more than 700 000 people.)”
More than 6 months ago Mugabe was pictured standing with the Pope in Italy. Most Popes have an infamous record of supporting dictators. Pope Benedict XV1 and Catholics in Rome must be clear about their position on Zimbabwean crisis. Neutrality is a myth and deceptive. Catholics in Rome cannot claim neutrality while the Zimbabwean government is destroying millions of lives. Church leaders who are silent while Mugabe is destroying lives of Millions are guilt of complicity.
Mujuru’s Daughter grabs a farm.
The Zimbabwean newspaper (31 August – 6 September 2006) reports that Kumbirai Madzima the daughter of vice president, Joyce Mujuru and her husband have removed the farmer Darrly Zietmann off his property, Ashcott farm 150km northeast of Harare.
Message to Vice President Mujuru, (Active member of The Salvation Army.)
On the other hand it’s good to hear that you are a Christian in Politics and an active member of the Salvation Army Church. I wish to say shame on you that your government has destroyed farms, homes of the poor and is starving millions of Zimbabweans. It is my prayer that God give you repentance or remove you from power soon. Woe to those who destroy homes of the poor. Woe to those who torture their innocent sons and daughters. Lord Jesus if they refuse to accept that they are wrong, repent and restore what they damaged, do not let them go unpunished.
“When you come before me, who requires of you trampling of my Courts.” Isaiah 1:1-18.
