Energy Minister Elton Mangoma was arrested on Wednesday 10 October 2012 by Mugabe’s police, the reason being that he ‘insulted’ President Mugabe at an MDC political rally.
Minister Mangoma belong to MDC Tsvangirai, the party which won presidential elections in both 2002 and 2008 elections but the results were manipulated by Mugabe’s ZANU PF which is still in control of the military and police.

In Zimbabwe opposition political meetings are banned. Freedom of speech and political assembly is restricted. Only the ruling government is free to organize political meetings. Opposition leaders are threatened, beaten and arrested for apparently no reasons.
Ordinary people are forced to attend the ruling ZANU PF political meetings, chant ZANU PF political slogans. Other political dissenters are harassed, raped, beaten and tortured for speaking against serious human rights abuses taking place.

The Zimbabwean economy is on ground because of farm grabs and looting by Mugabe’s supporters. ZANU PF ministers have looted public funds and divided all precious resources like Diamond mines only among themselves. The people of Zimbabwe are suffering and dying in foreign lands like South Africa, Zambia and Botswana while trying to eke out an existence.

Many people thought the unity government will bring economic and political stability to Zimbabwe but it has failed dismally to restore the country. Unemployment is more than 80%. Farmers who lost their vibrant farms to the government are now exporting food to Zimbabwe from Zambia and other neighboring countries were they resettled.
